Contract Designer

About the Role

We're looking for a versatile Contract Designer to support design work across our agency and our client accounts. This is a project-based, freelance role—not a 9-to-5—built for a designer who can move fluidly between marketing assets, product design, and eCommerce website work without needing a lot of hand-holding.

You'll be plugged into a fast-moving agency environment where design requests come from multiple directions: internal marketing campaigns, client email programs, eCommerce site builds, and the occasional “we need this by tomorrow” ask (though we try to limit this as much as possible!). If you like variety, can context-switch between brand systems, and take pride in clean, on-brand execution, this is a great fit.

What You'll Do

Marketing & Campaign Design
  • Design one-off and campaign marketing emails, including promotional, newsletter, and lifecycle email creative

  • Build out email flow assets (welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, etc.) in a consistent, on-brand style

  • Design digital ad creative across platforms (paid social, display, etc.) in multiple sizes and formats

Product & eCommerce Design
  • Create product-focused design assets, including product page graphics, banners, and merchandising visuals

  • Support ecommerce website design work—landing pages, category pages, homepage refreshes, and other on-site creative

  • Help maintain visual consistency across a brand's digital storefront

Ad Hoc & Agency Support
  • Take on ad hoc design requests as they come up across client accounts and internal initiatives

  • Turn around quick-hit design needs without sacrificing quality or brand consistency

  • Work from brand guidelines, templates, and existing design systems—and know when to ask versus assume

Who You Are

Must-Have

  • A strong portfolio showing marketing/email design, ad creative, and eCommerce or product design

  • Proficiency in standard design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent)

  • Experience designing for email platforms (Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar) and an understanding of email design best practices

  • Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and hit deadlines as a contractor

  • Strong attention to detail and consistency when working across multiple brand systems

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience designing for ecommerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar)

  • Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS as it relates to email or landing page builds

  • Agency experience working across multiple clients or brands at once

  • Experience with motion, GIFs, or lightweight animation for email or ads

Compensation

  • Contract / freelance role, paid on a project or hourly basis depending on scope and experience

  • Flexible workload based on client and campaign needs

The Environment

This is a remote-friendly, contract position. You'll work closely with our marketing and client delivery teams, taking direction from creative briefs and existing brand guidelines rather than starting from a blank page every time. Workload will ebb and flow with client and campaign needs, so this is best suited for a designer who's comfortable with a flexible, project-based cadence.
